Scholastic Book Fair
HASA hosts a Scholastics Book Fair in the library. Proceeds from the book fair go to Chatham’s library. Lots of fun for the kids. Lots of fun for the adult volunteers. If you can help out -- great event!
Running Club - Grades K-5
Running club is a program for K-5th graders held in the spring. Parent volunteers hold running club once a week after school at Chatham on a day that works for them. You can love or hate running to volunteer. Running coach clubs provide all the help you need with ideas for activities, routes, and things that have worked well in the past. Students meet weekly after school and hopefully are able to show off their skills at the annual Maniac Magee Run.
Staff Appreciation Week
This is the week that we get to show the teachers and staff at Chatham just how much we love them and how grateful we are for all that they do to help our children learn and grow. We provide meals, raffles, faculty room food, etc. Information will go out in April for how you can help celebrate our amazing and talented faculty and staff.
This is a school-run event that Mr. Schaffer, the PE teacher, will send out information about in May. Parents are invited to watch the Red Team vs. White Team festivities from the sidewalk surrounding the school.
Maniac Magee Family Fun Run - Benefits Homeless
This event happens in May. It is a family run/walk that raises money for a food bank in Norristown. Day of Registration is at 8:00am, race starts at 9:00am, and the awards ceremony is after the race at around 9:30am.
MayFair - Family Fun Carnival
This is a carnival-like celebration that happens in May on the school’s front fields. There are food trucks, games, activities, and general merriment aplenty. This is a major fundraiser for HASA. Information regarding how to get wristbands will go out in April. Please email CPEHASA@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out in any capacity.
5th Grade Unity Day
This is a party at the end of the school year for Chatham’s 5th graders to meet 5th graders from the other four elementary schools in the district. Students start their day with an abridged “day in the life” of a 6th grader at the middle school and end the day with organized games and social activities.
