Head Homeroom Parent and Party Volunteer Facts
Clearances:
In order to volunteer for any event at the school, all volunteers will need clearances.

Head Homeroom Parent Responsibilities:
Head Homeroom Parent is the “project manager” for a specific class for the school year. Head Homeroom Parent responsibilities are:

Liaison between HASA and parents and teacher

Sending emails to parents to volunteer for class parties. Head Homeroom parent is not responsible for attending/volunteering at all parties, they are responsible for finding volunteers.

Communicates with teacher/parents regarding class parties/other needs.

Collecting money (via Venmo/Cash) for class gifts for the teacher (usually holiday and end of year) and other HASA events.

Class Parties:
Halloween – Oct 31, in the morning, then the parade.
Winter – December, last day of school before break.
Valentine's Day – Approx. February 14th
End of School – June
5th grade has their own gatherings and celebrations throughout the year.
(Dates/Times for parties can always change. As a homeroom parent, it is imperative to be flexible, patient, and willing to adjust plans, as needed.)

Volunteers for Class Party:

Collaborate with other parent volunteers to plan activities for party (activities can include; games, crafts, trivia, , music, read book, etc.)

Arrive day of party to set up and execute activities

Volunteers are reimbursed up to $35 per party from HASA (keep receipt and submit to HASA)

Clearances
Obtaining clearances is requested to volunteer with school events. The process is easy and should only take 10-15 mins. Clearances last for 5 years before needing renewal. Clearances can be emailed to Karen Carano.
